State of Sorrow by Melinda Salisbury launched on March 1st this year and here at Geeky Clean not only were we lucky enough to attend a launch event in London a few days before the official launch, Melinda herself asked us to create exclusive goodies to give out to those who attended the event!
Sorrow all but rules the Court of Tears, in a land gripped by perpetual grief, forever mourning her brother who died just days before Sorrow was born. By day she governs in place of her father, by night she seeks secret solace in the arms of the boy she’s loved since childhood. But when her brother is seemingly found alive, and intent on taking control, Sorrow has to choose whether to step aside for a stranger who might not be who he claims to be, or embark on a power struggle for a position she never really wanted.
Having loved Salisbury’s previous series that began with “The Sin Eaters Daughter” we were super excited to read State of Sorrow and were more than happy to help out with Geeky Clean goodies for the launch. We agreed to create an exclusive Bath Bomb and Candle both named by the author herself.
The candle, Lamentia was pale blue and scented with patchouli, pepper and vanilla. Presented in a tin with a lid featuring the beautiful cover art for the book itself.
This is inspired by the deadly drug Lamentia that befuddles the mind and slowly kills the user.
The Bath bomb, The Naming was a nice bright but earthy/moss like green with a topping of rose petals. The bath bomb was scented with hibiscus, fern and fresh cut grass.
This Naming is inspired by a rather risque chapter!
Both of these items were made exclusively for the event only and you could only get them if you were attending, along with a copy of the book itself, an art postcard featuring that gorgeous cover again, a pin badge and a tote bag to keep it all in. The event itself was fun and insightful and all of us here at Geeky Clean are enjoying the book so much already! If you haven’t check it out already we totally recommend you do so!
