SPARKLE, SPARKLE, GLITTER IS ACTUALLY MADE OF PLASTIC!!

Yes thats right!

All craft type glitters are made from plastic and can contain PET and/or microplastics, which go straight down into our water system and eventually end up in the ocean, where they can harm marine life such as fish, corals and marine mammals!

Even cosmetic glitter which is made for use on the skin is made of plastic and can also have Epoxy Resin and aluminium in as well as chemical colorants and can be found on the label as “Polyethylene Terephthalate” which is the chemical name for PET plasticHere at Geekyclean we are always trying to work our way of being more environmentally friendly as well as upholding our vegan and cruelty free ways.
What do we use instead!?
Micas, mica is made up of natural minerals that are coated to produce different pigments or effects from matte to sparkle to neon.
We also use Pearlised mica is called lustre used to produce white or iridescent colors in our products.

So next time you shop for some sparkle make sure your not buying glitter made of plastic!
